What We Can Learn About Feminism from Oprah

When it comes to women’s rights and feminist movement there may be no person that is more qualified to lead a movement like this than Oprah Winfrey. She has interview women that have been sexually harassed, raped, molested and abused, and she has a first account experience of these types of things herself. This puts her in a unique position where she is able to empathize with those that have become part of the #metoo sexual harassment campaign.
It goes without saying that Oprah is someone that is well known in the world because she had a show for many years. She has interviewed the working class and a ton of celebrities. She is responsible for helping many people see a better path for their lives, and she has been instrumental in helping Dr. Phil McGraw build a career on television and through books.

As someone that has spent a lot of time talking with psychologists like dr. Phil McGraw and spiritual counselors Iyana Vanzant it is obvious that Oprah has a desire to empower people. It is even more interesting to see the way that she has been able to lead a lot of women to speak out on issues long before social media came into place.

Oprah Winfrey has made powerful speeches in the company of other African American women in places like the Essence Awards and the Essence Festival, but her ability to speak to women from different races at the Golden Globe Awards as she received an award drew even more power to her name. She became someone that people were looking at as a potential candidate for president in 2020.

It is very possible that Oprah Winfrey may be able to get the women’s vote that Hillary Clinton was not able to obtain doing her campaign. Oprah has stated that she does not want to run, but it definitely is still possible for her to lead a feminist movement when it comes to all of the women that are interested in getting their ideas and their movements vocalized.

Sometimes women just need a voice. They need someone that is really going to be able to stand up and vocalize the things that they are trying to say. Oprah is the perfect fit for this because she has years of experience in the spotlight. She has been interviewing people for years, and she has made it possible for so many people to experience a better sense of confidence because of her own struggles in life.

Winfrey has her own network. She is a billionaire business woman that came from poverty.. All of these are things that really made it possible for her to become someone that others could relate to. It appears that she is still at the top of her game when it comes to television and entertainment, but she also has compassion for those that are getting paid less simply because they are women. She is compassionate with those that have experienced sexual harassment.
