Amy Barnes – webmaster and writer

Amy Barnes graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, and she volunteers at the HRC. She loves cats, and she loves to bake. She is proud to be the founder of this website.

Rose Martinez – writer

Rose Martinez also has a Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies from the University of New Orleans. Gender Studies and feminism are two of her life’s greatest passion. She is thrilled to be writing for Gender Advocates.


Lydia Jones – writer

Lydia Jones is a 30-year-old from Seattle, Washington. She is transgendered, and she has an extremely unique perspective for the Gender Advocates. She is excited to share her perspective with all of you.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advocate for gender equality and intersectional feminism, including all people of color, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community, and we aim to educate the public on all issues of inequality. We also aim to provide solutions and promote discourse.
